Danielle Bonhomme nominated in the Accountancy category
We are thrilled that Danielle Bonhomme, Associate Director at PKF Channel Islands, has been nominated in the Accountancy category at this year’s Jersey Finance Rising Stars Awards 2026. It is a fantastic achievement and a well deserved recognition of Danielle’s hard work, technical expertise and the positive impact she makes for clients and colleagues alike through her work in non-audit assurance services.
We caught up with Danielle to learn more about her career journey so far, what motivates her in her role, and what being nominated as a rising star means to her.
Congratulations on your nomination for the Rising Stars Awards – such a fantastic achievement. What was your first reaction when you heard the news?
Shocked, it was very unexpected but a really lovely surprise and such a boost of confidence. I feel very grateful and honoured to be nominated along side so many other talented people and to be shortlisted is mind blowing!

What does this recognition mean to you personally at this stage in your career?
It means a lot! It feels great to be recognised in this way. It gives me motivation to continue pushing myself. Being nominated, at this early stage, is encouraging.
Taking it back to the start, what first drew you into a career in accountancy?
I have always been a numbers person and like problem solving. The idea of applying these skills in a practical way was appealing. Being able to support a range of clients – from larger corporations and financial institutions to owner run businesses and charities – through their respective challenges is rewarding.
Your role covers a really diverse portfolio, from charities and not-for-profits to service charge reviews. What do you enjoy most about working across such a varied client base?
Being able to add value. Supporting clients through their challenging periods and seeing them come out the other side thriving makes me so satisfied. Building strong relationships with clients, where they trust and rely on your advice, makes work even more rewarding.
Non-audit assurance isn’t always as widely understood as audit. When you’re speaking to clients, how do you bring its value to life?
I try to make it practical and relevant to the client’s specific needs. Understanding their specific challenges and needs and then explaining the non-audit assurance options which would address their concerns. Further explaining the benefits of assurance services – providing clarity, strengthening confidence and ultimately supporting decision-making.
Your colleagues talk about how dependable, resilient and resourceful you are. Which of those qualities has played the biggest role in shaping your career so far?
I’d say being dependable has played the biggest role for me. Being someone that others can rely on, whether that’s meeting deadlines, supporting colleagues or being accessible to clients. Overtime, this consistency has helped me build trust, take on more responsibility and develop confidence.
You’re also known for your calm approach, even under pressure. How do you manage to keep that perspective when things get busy or challenging?
I try to break things down into manageable steps and stay organised, which helps keep a clear view of what needs to be done. Prioritising these steps and focusing on solutions rather than the pressure itself also makes a big difference. Furthermore, having a very supportive team with whom I have open communication is also a massive help – knowing we will all step in when needed helps mitigate the stress during busy times.
What keeps you motivated day to day in your role?
Knowing what I do makes a real impact, especially within the not-for-profit and charity sectors. I also enjoy continuously learning and taking on new challenges, all while working alongside such a supportive team.
How has PKF supported your development and helped you grow into your current role?
The team I work with are all incredible! They are supportive and encouraging – giving you space to take (managed) risks to push yourself and build confidence. Nothing is ever too much trouble – there is always someone to bounce ideas off. PKF has the kind of environment that has made a huge difference to my development, helping me grow professionally and personally!
And finally, if you had to sum up your approach to your work in one sentence, what would it be?
I’d say my approach is to be proactive, reliable and invested – always aiming to deliver high quality work while building strong, trusted relationships with clients and colleagues alike.
